Sychronizing with Stationery : Synchronizing Projects to Stationery

Synchronizing Projects to Stationery

Currently in ePublisher Express, there are two ways to synchronize your project to a stationery file. The two types of synchronization are:

What Is Synchronization?

When synchronization occurs, ePublisher Express is taking the information from the stationery file and applying it to your project file. Synchronizing the project file to the stationery file will remedy any differences between the two files. Once ePublisher Express finishes synchronizing the project to the stationery file, all of the settings and information in the project file will match that of the stationery file.

When to Synchronize

When you synchronize a project to a stationery file, you are updating the information in the project file to match the information in the stationery file. Anytime a stationery file has been modified, all projects using that stationery will need to be synchronized to pick up the new information in the stationery. If you want your project to contain the most recent stationery information, then you need to synchronize the project to the stationery file. If you choose not to synchronize, your project will retain its old settings and the information in the project file will not match the information in the stationery file.

Automatic Synchronization

When you open an existing project, ePublisher Express automatically detects whether any modifications have been made to the stationery file. For more information on the modifications that result in project synchronization, please see “The Stationery File” on page 68.

If any changes have been made to the stationery file, ePublisher Express will display a dialog window notifying you that the stationery file has been modified. When this dialog window displays, you can choose to synchronize your project to the modified stationery file, select a new stationery file which to synchronize your project.
